down the front of the gown

Doctoral Hoods
In addition to the graduation gown, doctoral and phd hoods are required as part of full doctoral regalia. Academic hoods normally have one's degree color as the velvet, and the colors of the school where he/she graduated as the satin lining colors.
We recommend our deluxe hood for all deluxe and faculty regalia orders.
Deluxe hoods are available in the "traditional-standard" version, or with "piping added". If piping is indicated but a color is not specified, we will use gold piping. Or if you prefer you can specify a specific color.
When ordering your academic hood, please be sure to specify your degree(for the velvet) and where you graduated from (for the lining), including the city, since often the same school may be representeted differently on the hood depending which campus you graduated from.

themselves from students.

The Faculty Quality Doctoral Gown
A superior quality, fully tailored doctoral robe, priced to own!

standard sized gowns. For full figured gowns (plus
sizes), please add $15.00 per plus sized gown. Plus sizing adds an
additional 10 inches of material in the girth, and is custom made (+/-
6 week delivery)

black velvet. If you would prefer Ph.D. blue velvet, or another color,
we can make it special for you, for an additional $30.00 per gown.
We recommend the deluxe hood for all faculty quality doctoral gowns.

The Souvenir Quality Doctoral Gown
Our Souvenir
Quality gowns are traditionally styled with velvet front velvet panels
starting at the yoke of the gown, and finishing at the hem. They also
feature full sleeves with three velvet stripes (chevrons) on each arm.
Gowns
in black with black velvet are usually available for immediate shipment.
Additionally, we offer quantity discounts on these
gowns.
The price will depend upon the quantity of caps and gowns (sets) being
purchased.
Few
faculty members choose Souvenir Quality gowns, since they can be used
only once or twice. However, many schools choose Souvenir Quality over
rental because we can sell them at below rental prices.
Each set comes individually wrapped with a cap, gown,
and tassel.
Hoods
are not included with the set. Order tams here.

We
recommend Full Figured (Plus sized) gowns for
- individuals up to 5' 2" who are over 180 pounds;
- individuals up to 5' 5" who are over 220 lbs;
- individuals up to 5' 8" who are over 240 lbs;
- individuals up to 5' 11" who are over 270 lbs;
- or any one over 320 lbs.
- Additionally, heights 6' 9" or taller are considered
Full Figured.
If
you fit in any of these categories, please be sure to indicate your
weight together with your height, and to mention in your order that you
require a plus (full figure) gown.
